Why A. Blog?
I love to write and want to share my random wedding thoughts with you all!
Saddle Up, Here We Go!
Wooooooo! I am so excited! I have always wanted to create a blog and I feel that the business is at a point where it might actually get read. Now, I know, I know, that should have never stopped me from strumming it up, but it did... I just really fear being that girl from high school that started her own business, annoys everyone on FB with DM's and emoji raided sales pitches, and when it fails she just fizzles away in embarrassment. Nope, not for me! So the courage to strike this up is something I'm very proud of.
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Anna, which is the A in A. Biggs. Here's the part where I wish I could say, "I'm a stay at home mom, I eat salads with grilled chicken and raspberry vinaigrette, I get my 8 glasses of water...everyday, and go on daily runs with my jogging stroller and my high end dog. But, that is just not me, I wish it was, but it's not.
My Bio goes like this, I'm a full time working mom/wife, I work for a local politician, and I love it. I love my boss, my office, and...the government insurance. #1 reason I am not a stay at home mom.
2-3 nights a week I walk the university campus as a graduate student and 1-2 nights I have weekly meetings for the local 4-H in my area. Add in taking care of my six mutts, six horses, and the occasional goat and THAT is the true me. Plus, this wonderful life of ELD, and the journey of being a small business owner.
I also drink coffee like it's going out of style, but I wouldn't change it for nothing.
3 reasons I blog
1. I love to write
2. Share wedding ideas
3. Grow Business
So here's the thing. I'm not an expert in Weddings. There I said it. Contrary to what people, or what they now assume. I am learning as I go, but I definitely have a passion for the industry.
I started my business simply because I enjoyed planning my own wedding. I am a DIY junkie and "crafting" my wedding was right up my ally.
Originally, the business focused on the planning of a wedding, however I didn't get too many bites. I think right now the DIY bride is "super in" resulting in no need for a planner. However brides have gravitated toward my coordinating services. I would've loved this service if it had been available for me during my wedding. As a coordinator I devise the timeline, and stick to it the day of the wedding, I keep sh*t from hitting the fan, and block any wads of stress that may be thrown at the bride. I act as the liaison or the point of contact for the vendors. We are the brides right hand man!
All in all I am excited to share my thoughts and ideas, and hope it's fun for my brides to read!
